Acne is the result of abnormal functions of the sebaceous glands the surround the hair follicle in every skin pore. The glands can be infected which results in unsightly reddening and inflammation which in some cases erupt with pus. Some acne solutions clean the affected area preventing healthy pore from getting infected. Some have anti-biotics that treat the infection directly.
