Available Server and Service Types
A server can be of two general types determined by operating system used. The first is the Linux Server which uses the Linux Operating system. A sub-option of this is a cPanel dedicated server which is also a Linux server but allows the use of the CPanel control panel software. The second general type of server are Windows Dedicated Servers. This allows Windows users and applications to use the system. A Managed Dedicated server means that some level of server management is offloaded to the host provider, usually for a price. Differing levels of management is provided per given package. A malaysia dedicated server offers their level 1 Management Package free of charge.
There are three different type of servers depending on size and housing. The first and most expensive is a Dedicated Server. This allocates an entire physical computer to the client. The next, smaller level is Semi-Dedicated Server which allows a certain amount of resource sharing to a small number of clients. The third type is a virtual private server option. This is a small scale server that allocates a physical computer and its resources to many clients.
